SR-8 (Market Street) Bridge Renovation and Rehabilitation over the Tennessee River and Riverfront Parkway Work on the bridge has been completed and opened to traffic. Estimated completion date is September 2007. (Mountain States Contractors, LLC/CG)
Shallowford Road Widening Project, From West of Mark Lane to West of Center Street Work on this project continues. The contractor will have flagging operations in place beginning at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day in order to route traffic around construction activity. Motorists are cautioned to observe the 35-m.p.h. speed limit throughout the construction zone. Due to constant speeding in this area, both state troopers and local police will be increasing enforcement. Motorists who must travel through this area are asked to be patient and to stay alert for changing traffic conditions.
