General Motors provided fuel for thought at this year's Conference of the Americas. The company has three 2008 E85 ''flex-fuel'' vehicles on display: the Chevrolet Tahoe, Impala and Silverado.GM claims that there are more than 2 million of these vehicles on the road, using 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. No word, however, on how much they will set you back. Early wake-up call: Conference attendees who missed out on a few hours of sleep Thursday morning can thank Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutiérrez, who had been scheduled to give the keynote luncheon address.Gutiérrez's office called last week asking if he could reschedule to 8 a.m., instead of 1:30 p.m., because he needed to get back to Washington Thursday afternoon. Gutiérrez was summoned by President Bush to attend a meeting with members of Congress to discuss the pending free-trade agreements.
