TOCCOA, Ga. The work happening in downtown Toccoa this week on Doyle Street represents a new phase of the city streetscape project. “Martin Construction and Grading (based in Stephens County) began the (new phase) on Aug. 13 with staging, layout and saw cutting for the project," Toccoa Planning Commission Director Connie Tabor said. “Those items will be completed first." Next will come examination of storm drainage and procuring of some more equipment to address that issue. Additional utility work will take place in one of the alleys as well, Ms. Tabor said. Reopening Doyle Street is the second of three planned phases of the streetscape project and is expected to take several months to complete.
